ABOUT solly
Solly Fern is a 25-year-old emerging folk rock artist from South Australia who reminds listeners that nothing is ever truly lost—things only end when we let them.
Her music speaks to the power of persistence, to those quietly rebuilding, and to anyone fighting to keep their dreams alive while simply surviving.
A guitarist, pianist and vocalist, Solly writes with clarity, courage and emotional depth. Her sound is grounded in folk and coloured by rock, shaped by years of busking, gigging, and travel in a beat-up van.
Solly began songwriting in her teens and left classical vocal studies in 2020 to pursue her own path.
In late 2024, her first album was left behind—most of the songs too entangled in the emotional fallout of a damaging collaboration to reclaim.
Rather than relive and rework that experience, Solly chose to carry forward only four tracks—songs that remained fully hers, untouched by what happened.
These form the foundation of her upcoming album Into Halves, exploring the split between who she performs as and who she really is.
Solly’s music speaks to children of divorce, the unmoored, and anyone fighting for their dreams while simply surviving. From the ashes, Solly grows something stronger—something unmistakably hers.
